What Are Catastrophic Injuries?
What are catastrophic injuries? The way that I typically think of that is a life-altering injury. If something happens to someone that changes the way they view the world, and changes how they interact with other people, those are catastrophic injuries.
Some of them are obvious things like spinal cord injuries, but there are other, more subtle catastrophic injuries, things like sexual assaults. Those are life altering injuries. If someone is sexually assaulted it changes every relationship that they will ever have for the rest of their life. I think the easiest way to view a catastrophic injury as something that you have to make major life adjustments to adapt to.
That’s why it’s crucially important if you have a catastrophic injury that you have a lawyer who knows how to handle catastrophic injury cases and understands the impact that those kinds of injuries have on the client and, just as importantly, the client’s family.
This firm has done a lot of catastrophic injury cases. We have hundreds of clients who have suffered catastrophic injuries. We do our best to understand and empathize with what those clients are going through, and to do everything in our power to, in the best way that we can, bring them some justice that can help them deal with that injury for the rest of their life.
