University of Georgia’s Shahrzad Roshan Zamir Wins 2024 Harris Lowry Manton LLP Civil Justice Scholarship

Harris Lowry Manton LLP is pleased to announce that Shahrzad Roshan Zamir, a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law, has been awarded the Harris Lowry Manton LLP Civil Justice Scholarship for 2024. She is currently continuing her education at the University of California Berkeley Law School.

This scholarship will help Shahrzad with her law school endeavors, and we are proud to award it to her.

Shahrzad maintains a 3.95 GPA and focuses her studies on International Affairs. We were very taken by her essay about the importance of the right to a trial by jury. Shahrzad’s impressive work as a researcher at the Abdorrahman Boroumand Center for Human Rights in Iran highlights her commitment to justice. In her essay, she effectively highlighted how the right to a trial by jury fosters fairness within the legal system and serves as a critical check on judicial power.

Additionally, Dr. Roya Borouman, Executive Director of the Abdorrahman Center for Human Rights in Iran, spoke highly of Shahrzad’s commitment to advancing human rights and justice. Dr. Borouman expressed support for Shahrzad as a student dedicated to the selfless service of others, as demonstrated by her years of work for the Center.

“Dedicated students like Shahrzad represent the future of trial law in Georgia,” added Harris Lowry Manton LLP founding partner Jed Manton. “We’re delighted to present Shahrzad with the 2024 Harris Lowry Manton LLP Civil Justice Scholarship and to support her goal of becoming a lawyer.”

Shahrzad Roshan Zamir is an extraordinary young woman, and we expect big things from her in the future. Please join us in congratulating her on receiving this year’s Harris Lowry Manton LLP Civil Justice Scholarship!

About the Annual Harris Lowry Manton LLP Civil Justice Scholarship

The Harris Lowry Manton LLP Civil Justice Scholarship is an annual award of $5,000. Students who are incoming or enrolled in law school are eligible to apply. The firm believes everyone is equal under the law and deserves access to justice. A fair and accessible civil justice system relies on the availability of skilled and knowledgeable attorneys for those who need them most.

“We’re certainly aware of the financial burden that law school imposes on future attorneys; we’re very grateful and happy to do anything that can help offset that for some future student,” said Manton.

He also pointed out that law school debt can influence a student’s decision to enter a particular area of law rather than pursue something they are passionate about or that might provide more overall benefits to society.

“If we can do a little bit to help out one student at a time, it is something that we are very happy and love to do,” he said.

Harris Lowry Manton LLP is currently accepting applications for 2025.
